Historical Events That
Almost Bought Down The Internet…

With that in mind, it’s important to note many of the users are still quite used to the name CBS All Access. There are various streaming devices that you can use to stream the service including Roku and Fire Stick.

While the service has always worked just fine on other devices users have experienced streaming problems and Fire Stick users often report issues such as the app not working as expected.

The Error code UVP-1011 often comes up for the Paramount Plus users who are using Fire Stick. But what is the reason behind this and how can we solve it? Luckily, there are plenty of ways to solve it.

Perform a power cycle

This is usually the fastest means to solve the issue especially if you’re getting an error code. It’s really simple and what’s required of you is to restart the media device, your CBS All Access app (now Paramount Plus) and even the internet connection.

Switch off all your devices and this includes the router and modem. Unplug them from the power source and wait for a few minutes before you plug them back in. This should solve the problem and if not, there are more solutions to try.

Clear the cached data and cookies in the app

When you see the error code UVP 1011, one of the ways to get rid of it is to empty your cache. Rebooting the devices does get the service working once again on the Fire Stick but sometimes it also fails.

Clearing the cached data in the app will only take a few minutes. Follow these steps bit by bit;

  1. Find the Fire TV menu and then select the settings tab
  2. Go to applications
  3. There is a Manage Installed Applications section. Click on CBS All Access
  4. After that select Clear Cache and finally the Clear Data option
  5. If the issue continues to persist, try to uninstall the app and reinstall it back

Reset Fire Stick

In most cases resetting your Fire Stick works and thus won’t hurt to try it out. The problem might be originating from the Fire Stick itself and not the streaming service. If that’s the case, the best thing to do is reset the device. Follows these simple steps to carry it out;

  1. On the Fire TV home screen, select the setting tab
  2. Go to My Fire TV and then select Reset to Factory Defaults
  3. Click on Reset

While resetting the Fire Stick is likely to clear the issue, the process also deletes all of your personal data on the device. You will have to set it up once again.

Check your browser

There is also a high possibility that your browser is the cause of the problems you’re experiencing while trying to stream the service on Fire Stick.

Checking the browser is usually the ideal method for the people who don’t have any ad blocking extensions. The first thing to do is check whether your browser is updated to the latest version.

If you’re using an old browser, update it to the latest version as soon as possible. You should also delete your browsing history, cache and cookies as these might be disrupting streaming on Fire Stick.

Another thing to do is exit the browser and launch it again. If none of the methods works, try to use a completely different browser like Safari, Firefox, and Chrome and so on.

Disable ad-blockers

No one likes it when ads keep showing up on the screen every now and then. That’s why some people opt to block the ads using ad blockers like Pi-hole.

If you hate ads and currently using ad blockers, it may be the reason why the CBS All Access streaming service is not working on Fire Stick.

To resolve the issue, you will have to disable the ad-blockers whenever you’re watching a show on the platform.

Check your internet connection

Sometimes it’s just a poor internet connection that’s preventing you from streaming on Fire Stick. On that note, you need a high speed connection with speeds of at least 5Mbps or more to be able to stream comfortably.

If you are not sure about the minimum speeds required to stream CBS All Access on Fire Stick, run a speed test. This will prove whether your internet speeds are good enough or on the lower end. You can upgrade to a higher package for better speeds.

However, if you’re streaming on an internet connection with speeds of 5Mbps or more, restart your router to get rid of any issues.

What you have to do is disconnect the power cord from the particular power source. Wait for a few minutes and then reconnect the plug back. Once the router is on, check if you can still stream.
