How To Block Number with *67 on Verizon – Updated Guide

If you are a Verizon fanatic, you probably know what Caller ID and Verizon Caller ID Blocking programs are. These two let you exercise control over your calls and they are always included in the Verizon calling plan. The caller ID reveals the caller’s phone number for all the unblocked numbers.

In some cases, caller ID shows the caller’s name and you can personalize your phone to display the picture, city, and state of the incoming or outgoing calls. Caller ID Blocking on the other hand hides the number, name, and all the other details either temporarily or permanently.

*67 on Android

When making a call via your android phone, you can press *67 followed by the number you are calling. At this point, the person you are calling will get a call displayed as a ‘Private number’ or ‘blocked’. When you are calling toll-free numbers or emergency numbers, this functionality will not work.

The *67 function only works when it’s entered every time you dial a number. This means that it’s a temporary solution. However, most phones offer a more permanent solution to this. To permanently hide your caller ID on an android phone, follow the steps explained below;

  1. Click on the Phone icon
  2. Proceed to Search Bar on the phone interface
  3. Tap the three vertical dots
  4. Click on settings
  5. Select the calls section
  6. Click on additional settings
  7. Click on Caller ID
  8. Tap on Hide the number and save.

To get a more permanent solution on your iPhone, follow the steps below;

  1. On your iPhone, click on Settings
  2. Scroll down and click on the Phone
  3. Locate the Calls section and tap Show my Caller ID
