If you are a Verizon fanatic, you probably know what Caller ID and Verizon Caller ID Blocking programs are. These two let you exercise control over your calls and they are always included in the Verizon calling plan. The caller ID reveals the callerโs phone number for all the unblocked numbers.
In some cases, caller ID shows the callerโs name and you can personalize your phone to display the picture, city, and state of the incoming or outgoing calls. Caller ID Blocking on the other hand hides the number, name, and all the other details either temporarily or permanently.

How to Hide your number with *67
If you want to hide your Verizon number when calling, you can do this via *67. The service works for free on android and iPhone. This process hides the caller number whether using the landline or the smartphone. At this point, we are going to discuss how to hide your caller details with *67 on android and later on iPhone.
*67 on Android
When making a call via your android phone, you can press *67 followed by the number you are calling. At this point, the person you are calling will get a call displayed as a โPrivate numberโ or โblockedโ. When you are calling toll-free numbers or emergency numbers, this functionality will not work.
The *67 function only works when itโs entered every time you dial a number. This means that itโs a temporary solution. However, most phones offer a more permanent solution to this. To permanently hide your caller ID on an android phone, follow the steps explained below;
- Click on the Phone icon
- Proceed to Search Bar on the phone interface
- Tap the three vertical dots
- Click on settings
- Select the calls section
- Click on additional settings
- Click on Caller ID
- Tap on Hide the number and save.
*67 on iPhone
If you want to hide your number while using an iPhone, the process is the same. You are required to press *67 and the number you are dialing and proceed to call. As we have already explained above, this is a temporary option and you will be required to add the *67 at the beginning of the number you want to call every time. To get a more permanent solution on your iPhone, follow the steps below;
- On your iPhone, click on Settings
- Scroll down and click on the Phone
- Locate the Calls section and tap Show my Caller ID
- Tap the Show my Caller ID icon to turn it off.
After this, all your outgoing numbers will not reveal your caller ID.
