My AirPods Are So Quiet โ€“ Fix It In Few Steps

Appleโ€™s AirPods are quickly becoming one of the companyโ€™s most popular purchases with the frequent iterations of the iPhone hitting the markets and causing a frenzy.

My AirPods Are So Quiet

The Airpods are no exception, good sound, crisp clear microphone, and overall user experience makes the Apple Airpods among the best in the audio industry.ย

However, sometimes the high expectations from Apple products do tend to disappoint even the most devoted users. Weโ€™ve seen it when they removed the headphone jack from all their iPhones to laptops and phones not being as easily repairable by their users. But what Apple seems to throw at their users their fan base seem to adapt to the changes going forward.ย

But many have been left asking why their AirPods are losing their volume or have become noticeably quieter with time.

This article will explain all you need to know about your AirPod is quiet.

Why are my AirPods quiet?

To begin, you need to be aware that there is not a single factor that might be accountable for the quiet sound produced by the AirPods.

This may be happening for several reasons, but thereโ€™s no way to know the actual cause unless you try out a few different things on your own first, so letโ€™s go over those now!

There is earwax or dust on your AirPods

First, most AirPods include a tiny aperture on the rear of the device that serves as an entry point for dirt and dust.

Earwax from your ears might occasionally be another source of discomfort as well.

Therefore, if you are having problems with your AirPods being too quiet or just not sounding correct, you should try taking them out of the device and checking through the tiny holes on each podโ€™s back.

Before attempting any additional ways, try cleaning it out by using a blow dryer to force air into the space.

Make sure that your AirPods are free of earwax by cleaning them regularly with a tissue or a paper towel.

It is essential to keep earwax out of your AirPods because if it gets inside, the sound quality will suffer, and there will be less bass.

The setting that saves battery life on your iPhone

Even though there are no controls for volume in the program youโ€™re using to listen to music on your iOS device, switching to the โ€œlow power modeโ€ can sometimes restrict the amount of audio output from specific applications on the device that consume an excessive amount of battery life.

This can affect how loudly things play.

Although AirPods come with their very own battery, this is how iOS is designed to operate.

If you are using Airpods with an iOS smartphone and suddenly they become silent, you should check to see if low power mode is enabled on the Airpods and then disable it to see if this solves the problem.

Your AirPods, iPhone, and Mac all require the most recent software updates

Itโ€™s possible that what youโ€™re experiencing is caused by software problems on your iOS device and/or AirPods if they havenโ€™t been updated since new versions were available.

You should update both of them to the most recent version of iOS if possible.

To determine whether or not any updates can be downloaded for either of these devices;

Settings > General > Software Update can be found on the iPhone.

AirPods are almost out of battery

If your AirPods are losing their charge, they will play at low volume or not play any audio.

Before attempting to use any pods, check to see whether or not they still have some juice in their batteries.

Also, check that the case for your AirPods charges correctly and has enough battery life to charge your AirPods fully.

There are moments when the AirPods battery is close to dying, but it can be difficult to tell because they often continue to work for at least a few hours, regardless of how you use them.

Additionally, it is very uncommon for the battery of one AirPod to run out before that of the other.

This is to be expected!

You need to reset the settings on your equalizer

For those who arenโ€™t familiar with the term โ€œequalizer,โ€ it refers to a setting that may be used to adjust the frequency response of each speaker and set of headphones so that it corresponds to how sound is perceived in the real world.

Therefore, if something sounds too bassy or treble-y and there is no other way to modify this other than by changing the EQ balance on every single device, then try changing the balance by moving some sliders about until everything sounds fine again! Or you could just return them to their original settings.

To change any of these settings on your iPhone, follow these steps: Navigate to Settings > Music > EQ, and then select off.

If neither of those works, try choosing a different profile and then toggling the setting back to โ€œoff.โ€

Problems with the synchronization of Bluetooth

If youโ€™re having issues with the AirPodsโ€™ Bluetooth functionality, check to see that all of the settings are accurate and that the headphones have been successfully paired to both of your devices (iPhone or a PC).

To resolve the issue, it may be necessary for you to disconnect and then rejoin your AirPods within the Bluetooth settings of each device;

  1. While wearing your AirPods and listening to music, lower the volume to 0 on your device.
  2. Remove your AirPods from the Bluetooth settings tab on your device without unpairing or forgetting them, and keep them in your ears while you do this.
  3. Using the speakers on your iPhone, play some music while lowering the volume to zero.
  4. With the volume settings on the AirPods and the iPhone speakers at zero, reconnect your AirPods and then crank the volume up on your iPhone.

Check to see that the volume levels on both AirPods are the same

If you want to recalibrate the volume levels of both AirPods, try turning down the volume on both of them, then disconnecting them both at the same time, and finally reconnecting them both at the same time once more.

Your AirPods have been harmed in several ways, including by water, heat, and dust

One of your AirPods might have been harmed by a liquid or some kind of chemical.

This could lead them to malfunction, preventing them from correctly playing audio! If this is the case, you need to get them back to Apple within the allotted time for the warranty so that they can be repaired or replaced.

If they have not been destroyed from the outside, there is a good chance that they can salvage whatever is still contained within them.

Make sure you acquire an estimate before mailing anything, however, because these repairs can, on occasion, be quite pricey.

There are currently many people all over the internet talking about how quiet their AirPods are, but it seems there could be a few possible reasons for this.

The most common ones are mentioned, but if you still have trouble, try some other connections!
