Infinite LTE Data - is it worth it?

Infinite LTE Data Review – Is It Worth It in 2021?

In this modern age and era, it’s easy to think that almost every part of the US has access to reliable internet services. Unfortunately, that is far from the reality and while many of the metropolitan areas are served by a myriad of internet providers, the rural areas are left in the dark. Infinite LTE data is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that provides high-speed internet to the rural residents in the US via 4G LTE technology based on T-Mobile network.

The company states that their mission and focus is to provide affordable internet to the underserved and often ignored rural and suburban areas. They offer wireless internet access since such areas have very few or no wired options available to them. Therefore, they take it upon themselves to ensure the people living off the grid can still have accession to reliable internet services and remain connected with the rest of the world.

When you think about it, MVNOs like Infinite LTE data might just be the reprieve the country folks have been waiting for all this time. In the areas where wired internet is completely unavailable or difficult to come by, satellite internet is usually the viable option. However, satellite internet can be quite unreliable. The signal has to travel long distances from the main satellite in the outer space to the dish positioned at your home. The end result of this is lags and slow internet speeds. That’s why wireless internet options such as infinite LTE data can turn out to be a lifesaver.

Packages and pricing

There is nothing complicated about the infinite LTE data packages and pricing. Everything is pretty straightforward and in fact, the company offers only a single plan for all its customers. That said, there are also a couple of prepaid options to choose from. These are meant to be the more affordable plans for the users. We will briefly talk about the various packages that are available for the infinite LTE data customers.

The unlimited data plan

This particular plan costs $69.99 a month and this price is inclusive of all the fees and taxes. You get to earn a discount when you decide to go for the month to month option. Here are the options at your disposal;

Prepay 3 month option

The prepay 3 month option comes with a $5 monthly discount. In that case, you will be paying $64.99 per month instead of $69.99 per month. At the beginning of the three month cycle, you will be charged $194.97, which is the entire amount required and due to the discount save $15. Well, any kind of saving is a good saving and we appreciate that.

Prepay 6 month option

For the prepay 6 month option, you earn a $10 monthly discount and instead pay $59.99 per month. That said, at the beginning of the six month cycle, you have to pay $359.94 as the service subscription fee. In the end, you save a whopping $60, which is a considerable amount if you think about it.

The BYOD unlimited hotspot plan

If you have a tablet at home, then this is the perfect time to put it to great use. The best part of it is that you get to save on the often hefty upfront equipment costs. Infinite LTE data offers its customers the BYOD unlimited hotspot plans so that they can turn their smart devices into a home modem, thanks to their wireless technology. The plan costs $79.99 per month and it allows you internet access on the go to browse, check emails and perform other online tasks with ease.

All you need to get started is a sim card that can function as a micro or nano card. Activate the sim card, insert it in your device and proceed to turn on your device’s hotspot. Afterward you can enjoy incredibly fast unlimited internet at an affordable price.

The company mainly recommends people to use either alcatel or Samsung tablets for this plan option. There are so many devices that are incompatible with this plan, hence it is essential for you to check their website for more information on compatibility. Remember, this particular plan is intended to work with devices that run on GSM networks only. Any other kind of device simply won’t work.

Network performance

Typically, people would want to know how well the infinite LTE data network performs and if it’s reliable. First things first, there is no mention anywhere about the actual upload and download speeds people are likely to get. This means we don’t have the figure or estimates of the speeds. However, they do state that the speeds are dependent on several factors such as the terrain, distance from the tower and other factors that might have a significant impact on the actual speeds you receive.

The company makes it clear that they don’t guarantee speeds to the customers. If an area is likely to have lower signals, they don’t sell plans there because they won’t be able to provide a good enough service. Decency and transparency is the one thing all internet providers should emulate. It ensures their customers receive nothing but the best services. Infinite LTE data is definitely on the right path with this and it goes a long way to show how much they value their customers.

Another thing they mention is that all of the hotspot devices that are more than 3 to 4 miles away from the towers may start to lose stability and ultimately speed too. Thus, watch out for that!

Equipment and service fees

Service fees

Once again infinite LTE data upholds transparency and has provided all the information you may need to know about additional costs and fees. Everything is on their website. Furthermore, during the purchase process, all the fees are listed so that you have time to review them before making the order. You won’t find any of the infinite LTE data users complaining about hidden fees suddenly appearing on their bills.

The sales fees and taxes are included in the actual prices listed on their website. The only fees you will have to pay for are the delivery fees and start-up fee. Therefore, when making your first payment, these costs will add to your plan fee;

  • A one-time activation fee of $75 for setting up your new account and activating the sim card.
  • A $15 fee for an insured-priority mail through USPS.

Equipment Needed

Your modem and router

Before subscribing to the service, you must determine which kind of device will best match your needs. There are three devices that infinite LTE data uses, namely a USB Air Card, a tablet that can provide a hotspot and a modem/router combo. You can choose any one of them as long as it will serve you best.

The Alicorn USB AirCard

Users can get this device at a one-time fee of only $99. There are many notable features that come along with it. For starters, it’s a standalone hotspot that allows for mobility. If you are the kind of a person who likes travelling regularly, then you just found your ideal device. In addition, it has two TS9 ports for easy connection to both an adapter and an outdoor antenna.

The sim card is preactivated and ready to use anywhere at any time. You can use it on any device that’s wifi enabled. Other features include it has LTE bands 2,4 and 12 for faster speeds, consists of strict NAT settings and has the capability to provide wifi to a radius of up to 1,000 square feet. It can also be used as a hotspot but you will require a phone charger that is over 5V 1amp output.

Alicorn with Onyx bundle

The Alicorn with Onyx bundle costs $179.98 and in return you get the Alicorn and Onyx that functions as a modem plus router combo. This is actually the simplest equipment you will ever find. Just plug the Alicorn into the Onyx USB port and you’re good to go.

Sometimes finding strong enough wifi that will cover the entire home without leaving some dead zones is not easy. The Onyx router does quite a good job at that and provides a wifi radius of up to 4,500 square feet. This is a pretty strong signal and can overcome obstacles like thick walls and floors.

To add on the list are the five 1 GB Ethernet ports on the Onyx that gives you stable Ethernet connectivity for your devices. The Sim card in the Alicorn is already preactivated and works like a charm to provide fast speeds.

Touch screen tablet

Like I mentioned earlier, Infinite LTE data mainly recommends the alcatel or Samsung tablets for the purposes of compatibility with the service. At $140, you can purchase an unlocked Alcatel A30 tablet/ modem that come with a flexible stand. This can be used as a hotspot modem to provide internet to all of your connected devices. But if you already have a compatible tablet, there is no need to purchase another one. The wifi radius will work perfectly well for most homes.

Data caps

One of the things that people really look at before settling for an internet provider is the data caps. For most people, they just want to use the internet without having to think about any limits or restrictions. That aside, infinite LTE data does state they have soft data caps, which are not that bad. Though, it’s also not ideal considering there are users who don’t really like limitations. This basically means that you have to watch out for a few limitations here and there.

Infinite LTE data deprioritizes users once they exceed the 50 GB data mark. It is a policy and surely the biggest setback for the users. However, all is not lost because they don’t deprioritize every other time. Its only when the towers in that particular area are facing congestion. With that said, they don’t deprioritize if you manage to stay within the 50 GB limit even when there is a bit of congestion in the towers. Well, if you want to remain in the good books and avoid deprioritization, then you better stay within the 50GB mark.

Truck drivers, boaters and RVers are the type of people always on a constant move. Infinite LTE data affirms their services are practical and more suitable for such people. All that is required is a good 4G or LTE signal for them to get an internet connection.

  • Soft data caps
  • There are absolutely no contracts
  • Great for travellers and people always on the move

  • Limited availability in some areas
  • Heavy users face Deprioritization

Customer service

Once you purchase a plan and equipment, everything else is pretty simple and laid back. For starters, you receive a letter with information regarding billing, technical support, setup instructions and details on passwords. If you want to reach the customer support, call them via their phone number which is listed as 505-926-1725 on the SIM-only web page.

The business hours on weekdays are from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Other ways to contact customer support is via email or submit a request form on the support page. A good number of customers are happy and contend with the Infinite LTE data services. The main issue in the reviews is poor signal in the areas that experience lots of signal interference.

Is infinite LTE data legit?

It is a legit company that offers internet to the rural parts of the country. It’s also a great option for the avid travellers who need internet everywhere they go.

What is LTE data plan?

Also referred to as 4G LTE, this is basically a standard for wireless data transmission. It allows you perform online tasks faster than the previous 3G technology.

If you are constantly on the move and not a heavy data user, this is the perfect option for you. The hotspot devices do a great job for a typical household and their prices are decently affordable for a rural setting.
