The Hulu on-demand service doesn’t provide coverage of live sporting events. To watch NHL games whenever you want, you will need to get a Hulu + Live TV subscription.
This gives you access to all the channels available on Hulu’s Live platform as well as the live streams of the NHL games. You can also add other premium channels like HBO or Showtime to your package if you wish to do so.
Hulu Live TV service costs $64.99 a month and it comes with more than 70 Live TV channels. A number of those channels are sports networks like ESPN, Fox Sports 1, FS2, NBCSN, TNT, etc. You can even opt to take your sports entertainment experience a notch higher by subscribing to the Hulu + Live TV with ESPN plus and Disney Plus bundle. This is a bit more costly coming in at a $72.99 monthly fee.
How to watch NHL games on Hulu
The first thing you should know about watching the NHL on Hulu is that you will not be able to view all the games live. Only those that are broadcast by NBC (NHL Network) will be shown live while the rest will only appear on-demand after the game ends.
That said, if you decide to subscribe to Hulu Live TV, you will be given an opportunity to select which games you’d like to see Live. As mentioned earlier, these include the games that air on NBC Sports Network but you will also be able to watch other NHL games that may be carried by ESPN, ESPN Plus, TNT and ABC.
For example, if you choose to follow the Chicago Blackhawks, you will be able to watch games streamed live on both the ESPN and NBC Sports Networks. However, if you’re following another team, you’ll just have access to the games aired on the network that airs them.
Another thing to keep in mind when watching the NHL on Hulu is that certain games may not show up immediately after the conclusion of the previous game.
This is because the streamer needs time to buffer the next event before it starts playing.
